Friends in Love Scarf - Hooker Romance Challenge Winner - Congratulations spiffyspooner!

Voting ended today on our Hooker Romance EtsyHookers Creative Challenge No. 5. For this challenge members were asked to create a crocheted item that best represents the theme of romance, love, and friendship. Each entry was also required to include an additional embellishment such as a ribbon, button, bead, etc.

spiffyspooner’s entry, Friends in Love Scarf, won the hearts of the voters.

From the item description: “This 64" long scarf will warm your neck and your heart. One of the beautiful things about this scarf is that it gives the illusion of being a double scarf; but it is one scarf with two layers. The 5 heart buttons along the side allow the scarf to be buttoned at any point along the scarf so it can be worn in many ways.”

Please take a moment to visit spiffyspooner and see all of the beautiful items she has to offer. From her gorgeous scarves, and amazing afghans, you’ll be sure to find something lovely that you’ll want to make your own.

“As I look out my living room window I am greatful to have a marvelous view of several aged maple tree that turn an amazing color in the fall. Although this bowl is an oak tree, I find comfort in knowing that nature will continue to show us her beauty no matter what life throws at us. Creative Challenge No. 2 Rainbow Theme Winner

And the winner is . . .

DebzCreations Rainbow Puzzle Hand Bag

For this Rainbow themed Challenge, members were asked to create an item using at least 5 of the 7 colors of the traditional rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. They were also asked to describe how color influences their designs.

This winning design by DebzCreations is not only a colorful and creative entry, but it has a special theme, close to her heart, that ties in beautifully with this Challenge. “This bag was created as a tribute to my incredible 14 year old autistic daughter . . . Autism is a puzzle. Currently 1 in every 150 babies born have some form of Autism. The rainbow of colors represents the wide diversity of the Autism Spectrum.”
I hope you’ll take a moment to read her full description here.

With an amazing attention to detail, and the carefully crafted puzzle edgings, it’s not hard to see why this entry caught the attention of so many voters. You can see that same attention to detail in her shop items: shawls, ponchos, wraps; appendage warmers; brain warmers; afghans and much more.

I would also like to thank NoraDora, for creating the Rainbow theme. And thank you to all the members who participated and entered - you are all winners! With 43 amazing entries and 321 votes cast, you have made this Challenge a huge success - thank you!
